Phoenix area cities with the highest percentage of foreclosure-type properties

Here is a quick "top five" list of  major Phoenix area cities with the highest percentage of foreclosure listings to start January 2009.

1. 66% - Town of Maricopa ( 1,034 actives with 682 foreclosure-type properties)
2. 62.1% - Queen Creek ( 1,733 actives with 1,077 foreclosure-type properties)
3. 58.3% - Glendale ( 2,098 actives with 1,224 foreclosure-type properties)
4. 53.7% - Phoenix ( 10,491 actives with 5,634 foreclosure-type properties)
5. 49.7% - Gilbert ( 1930 actives with 960 foreclosure-type properties)

It should be noted that Glendale increased 10 percentage points and both Queen Creek and Phoenix increased nine percentage points to get to their current levels.
